The National Cherry Blossom Festival wanted to create artist-decorated cars for their pandemic-modified Cherry Blossom Parade in 2021. We created a design inspired by the delicate fluttering petals of the cherry blossoms that surround the Tidal Basin. We then meticulously applied thousands of hand-cut petals to the car, which fluttered as the car drove.
